Dino-rama

Today I want to share a card I made with the new No Bones About It stamp set.  The card is a step type card.  We made this style card in my card club, and I could not wait to try it with this new stamp set.  I made the background paper with the stamp set.  This is a very fun stamp set and I love the way the card turned out.

Hello Thinlits

So I am kind of crazy for the Hello Thinlit Dies.  It is almost as bad as the Circle Card Thinlit. (LOL)  So the next three cards I am going to show you all use the thinlits.  The first card that you see turned out so wonderful I just love it.  I used all of the 2014-2016 in colors to color the butterfly.  The one below it I saw on pinterest in different colors but loved the technique and just had to try it.  It is also kinda of my farewell to my favorite in-colors ever.   I just love them and will continue to use them often,  I think that is one reason I could never be a demonstrator I could not quit using a color just because it was no longer in the catalog.  The last card I saw a card on pinterest with a similar layout, I didn't have some of the things she used, and my words and color scheme is different but you know me I improvised and it really turned out better than I had imagined.  So I hope you love what you see and find some inspiration for yourself.

Bart's Belated Birthday Wish

So I have gotten the Circle Card Thinlit die back out,  so if you have followed my Blog for long you know that I love to create characters out of the Circle Card Thinlit.  I was watching the TV last night and while flipping channels I came across Bart Simpson, and it hit me I could make a card that looked like him very easily and we all have the pre-teen or teenager that loves 'The Simpsons'.  We all also need a good belated birthday card in our stash, so this card kills to birds with one stone.  I have taken a few pictures of the making of the card so hopefully it will answer some of the questions that I get on the making of this type of card. So here we go.

Belated Birthday Bart

Supplies Needed
  • Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, and Whisper White card stock.
  • Momento Black, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Daffodil Delight ink
  • Remembering Your Birthday, and See Ya Later Stamp Sets.
  • 2 1/2", 1 3/4", 1 1/4", 1/2" circle punch, Owl Punch, Hole punch, and Project life corner punch.
  • Circle Card Thinlit, Circle Collection and Oval Collection Framelits.
  • Scissors, Sponge Daubers.

Step One

The first thing you do is to cut out all pieces needed. The small Black circles are from 1/2" circle punch,  The second smallest circle from the Owl punch, and the smallest is from hole punch.  The straight line is just 2' Strip cut at 1/8" wide. and the crescent shape is done with the 1/2" punch. Cut out card and oval is the smallest oval framelit.

Step Two

The next step is to turn card over the back is now the front and fold as seen above.  Next cut 1/8" off each side of oval, and with sponge daubers edge around oval with Daffodil Delight ink. Glue all of the small black circles to white circles and the crescent shape to end of strip, as shown above.

Step Three

I then took my scissors and with the card folded started cutting small V's in the top to mimic his hair.  Assemble all the pieces as seen in above picture,  Trim the excess Strip and then use the corner punch on the bottom two corners and TaDa........... BART SIMPSON............ The sentiment was stamped and cut out with 2 1/4" circle framelit and the Black circle was punched with the 2 1?2" punch.

I truly hope that the pictures helped I have tried videos and do  not like any of the outcomes so I will continue to try to post pictures when I can.

Baby Oh! Baby

Have you ever had a card that once you started it you just could not stop adding things to it, well I am telling you this card is that card.  It started out simply enough with an idea of the Zoo Babies holding a Balloon saying baby. It ended up with 5  stamp sets being used which is insane.  Never the less I like the way it turned out.  Tell me your story it you too have had this happen.

Spring has Sprung 2

I was so busy making cards this weekend that I am able to make a few posts. I hope you are able to catch up with me.  This post is a continuation of yesterdays floral posts.  I just love Spring and all the beautiful flowers that are in bloom and Stampin Up has so many beautiful floral stamps, that it is hard to pick a favorite.  The DSP on these cards are from last years sale-a-bration but it is still one of my very favorite DSP's that Stampin Up has offered, so I use it alot. On the last card I tried my hand at the new Bokeh technique. Take a look and feel free to make a comment.

  • Sweet Sorbet DSP
  • Momento Black ink
  • Stampin Write Markers

The card base is cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4",  DSP  cut at 5 3/8" by 4 1/8".  Black square is cut 1/4" inch larger than the biggest square framelit on card. Glue Black square down centered on top half of card, the Stamp sentiment below.  For Center Piece,  first stamp and color your image and then lay your three framelits down on top of your image and run through the Big Shot. The outer most frame is glued flat, the next layer is popped up with dimensional, the middle layer is two dimensional high. I then used crystal effects in the center of flower. set it aside to dry.

Soft and Subtle

Supplies Needed
  • Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, and Pool Party card stock.
  • Soft Suede, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, and VersMark ink.
  • Bloom with Hope, and  gorgeous Grunge Stamp Sets.

Card base cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". Pool Party cut at 3" x 5 1/8" and ran through embossing folder, place ribbon on bottom of Pool Party card stock as above and glue card stock to left side of card.  Soft Suede is cut at 3 1/4" x 3 3/4" and Sahara Sand cut at 3" x 3 1/4". on the small piece of Sahara Sand Stamp floral image with VersMark and use clear embossing powder and heat gun to raise image. Next use Gorgeous Grunge Stamp and Sahara Sand ink and cover square. Then with Sponge Dauber fill in flower using Pool Party ink.  I used Soft Suede to stamp sentiment. Glue image to Soft Suede piece, and use dimensional on soft suede. Put linen thread through button tie bow and place on end of ribbon.

Bokeh Bouquet

Supplies Needed

  • Coastal Cabana, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White card stock.

Stamp Image on Small Whisper White card stock, at top, Tear bottom 1/3 off and stamp sentiment. Ink edges with sponge dauber in Chocolate Chip ink. I then took crystal effects and went over the darkest elements on the flowers and set aside to dry. On the large piece of Whisper White card stock I did the bokeh technique using Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, and Coastal Cabana ink along with the Craft White. Here is a web page with instructions on the Bokeh technique. www.stampyourartout.com/stampyourartout/2015/03/the-bokeh-technique-step-by-step-photos.html.After everything dries, and it will take a while, the layers are all glued flat. The bow is tied and placed on with a glue dot.
