Summer at the Beach

Hello everyone, I guess even with the best of intentions we cannot always keep our word I was hoping at the beginning of the summer I would be able to post once a week that has not happened so so sorry.  I will try to make up for it today.  I live a t the beach so I just love playing around with the Life is a Beach cartridge, my first card is for friends that were coming to spend the week with me so I thought I would make them a card welcoming them.

Playtime

To start off with all of the cards you see are A2 size.  This particular card I used DCWV paper for my background.  The embossing folder that I used was Darcie "Crackle".  The Die cuts of course from Life is a Beach.  I am not sure if it is relevant but I always use the Cricut Craft Room for my cards it seems to make it much easier to visualize the layout, It is a free download at Cricut.com.  The bucket and shovel were cut at 2.5inches and the beach ball  at 3.5 inches. The sentiment was from Stampin Up stamp set "Sweetly Said" and I used black embossing powder to make it pop.  The only other thing used was a small brad for the bucket handle and a white gel pen to make marks on ball.

 Sail Away

This card is one I made for my Dad his birthday is coming up in August, and he loves boating.  I one again use the Darcie "crackle" embossing folder with her new plates that leave a opening when used with embossing folders. (I will show picture at bottom of post, I got them at AC Moore.)  I used a  brayeron the embossing folder with Stampin UP crumb cake ink. and sponged Studio G yellow ink for the sun.  The corners were made with EK Success punch.  The Die cut from Life is a Beach cartridge was cut at 3.5 inches.  I used square brads and open round brads also an the card.

For the Birds

The inspiration for this card came from Pinterest OMG who doesn't love Pinterest.  I used 2 different cartridges for this one For the back ground I used Sentimentals.  The bird cut at 3 inches from Life is a Beach and the post cut at 2.5 inches from Life is a Beach were trimmed.   The brown patterned paper was from Cloud 9 and the blue paper was from Momenta.  The sentiment  and the small birds in the back ground came from Stampin Up stamp set (Up, Up & Away) and i used Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ink for the words and Studio G grey chalk in k for the birds.  I used hemp twine for the posts and also used my Cricut markers on the posts after I cut them.  I learned the technique off of YouTube. i used for the birds eye a small black jewel.  I love how it turned out.

Surf's Up

The last card I have for this post is one that really cam about by accident, a friend asked if I had any teenage type cards for a boy, and of course I said absolutely.LOL.  So knowing that he loved the beach and surfing this is what I came up with.  The back Ground Paper is by Scenic Route and the paper for the words is from Cloud 9 Design.  The hand was cut at 4 inches and the titlewords were cut at 3.25 and the board was done at 3.5 inches.  Once again after I cut it I used the Cricut markers for the titlewords.   I Inked around the hand with Studio G tan chalk ink.  I know that sometimes we get stuck with a request that seem difficult but the Cricut once again came to the rescue.  It is a tremendous tool for those of us who can't say NO.

As always thank you for stopping by and taking a look if you want to follow me on Pinterest I would be honored.  I hope you are inspired and have a wonderful time crafting.
